Assoc. Prof. Dr. Semih Sırrı Özdemir was admitted to the Ankara Bar Association in 2010. He currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Commercial Law at Hacettepe University Faculty of Law.
He completed his undergraduate degree at Bilkent University Faculty of Law in 2009 on a full scholarship. He pursued his graduate studies as a Jean Monnet Scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2011, and subsequently at Gazi University in 2012.
In 2015, he conducted doctoral research at the Institute for Law and Finance (ILF) at Frankfurt University. He obtained his Ph.D. from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2017, and was granted the title of Associate Professor in Commercial Law by the Inter-University Council in February 2024.
Dr. Özdemir primarily focuses on Capital Markets Law, Corporate Law, Insurance Law, and Arbitration. His doctoral dissertation focused on corporate law, while his associate professorship thesis centered on capital markets law.
Since 2012, he has maintained his MCIArb membership with the London-based Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has served as Sole Arbitrator, Arbitrator, and Tribunal Secretary in disputes before the Istanbul Arbitration Centre (ISTAC). He is also listed on the panel of arbitrators of various international arbitration centers.
